Super classic throwback restaurant and bar. Original dark wood paneling surrounding the booths. Good atmosphere. Food was awesome and service was kind and timely. Steaks were the best I've had in Tahoe. French onion soup was brilliant.

Rojo definitely gives off a dark tavern vibe. We went around 4 PM for and early dinner in the afternoon and it still was nice and dark and moody inside. On a Sunday at that time, it wasn't busy and we got in right away. But people started showing up towards the end of our dinner. The staff was nice. There were some regulars in there that you could tell we're regulars, and my stepdad says there was additional dining area with a salad bar, but we didn't see that we were seated in the front near the bar. They have Tavern food and Italian food as well. We got the onion rings as an appetizer (4/5) and then my mom got the tilapia with pasta (3/5) and I got the barbecue beef sandwich with fries (3.5). The onion rings were really good. Beer battered and the smaller size onion rings. When it comes to my sandwich, it was a bit sweet and it was just on plain bread so I thought maybe they could've added a little more to make the sandwich better, and I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw on the side, but overall, it wasn't bad at all.

One of my favorite Places to eat while visiting South lake Tahoe. Rustic ambience with amazing staff and great service. The mile high Ruben with the homemade fries is an all-time favorite, and a must try. I definitely recommend this establishment.

My wife and I heard they had great Karaoke so we went there to see what it was like. The people that run this place made us feel welcome and we had a great time! This place just has a cool vibe! Even though we we were just visiting, we felt like we were hanging out with local folks!

We stopped by RoJo's for lunch when we were visiting South Lake Tahoe, and it was absolutely delish. The burger was amazing. They definitely know how to grill a mean burger...it's probably one of the better burgers I've had in a while. It's chargrilled perfectly and I just love it when you can taste the fire. The baby back ribs were also delish and just melt in your mouth. Both the burger and the ribs comes with a choice of a side. RoJo's is a great option for lunch and some beer. The portions are generous and you'll definitely leave full.

This place is a throw back to the 80's steakhouse. And that's just fine with me! The portions are generous, our steaks were cooked perfectly, and our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful picking out dishes we would love. The atmosphere when there was no live music was perfect. Not too loud and with all the dark wood of the interior of the restaurant, it was cozy. Some might think it's a dark hole in the wall- but that's not always a bad thing when you just want a relaxing night out and delicious dinner. We were in town for the weekend, took a chance on this place based on the reviews, and were very happy. We would definitely go back on future visits.

1/26 4-1/2 STARS! We stumbled upon Rojo's Tavern by chance after our original dinner plans fell through. A local Indian restaurant had an unexpectedly long wait for our large party, but Yelp guided us to a pizzeria which also struggled to sit a big group unfortunately. We decided to check out Rojo's next door, and super glad we did! We were seated in 15-minutes and on a cozy table that accommodated us all. The place may have an old-style motif, but don't let that deceive you. Rojo's Tavern is a hidden gem with fantastic customer service, delicious food, and reasonable prices. The French onion soup, ribs, pasta, appetizers, and salads were all exceptional - a true culinary delight. The history of this family-owned restaurant adds to its charm, and the dedicated team, including our server and chef with over 20+ years of experience, reflects their commitment to excellence. We'll definitely be back for more memorable dining experiences. If you're seeking great food without being overly concerned about ambiance, Rojo's is highly recommended! I can't wait to return, again and again. 4-1/2 stars! +
